Difference Between Weed and Hashish

Although both hashish and weed come from the common drug cannabis sativa, there are some notable differences between them. florida-residential-alcohol-rehab

Weed consist of the dried flower tops of the cannabis plant, but when resin made up of “stalked resin glands” is compressed, hashish is produced, which has higher concentrations of THC and other cannabinoids (also in marijuana/weed). The higher concentration results in a stronger high than regular marijuana.

Hashish is usually solid depending preparation, or it can be water-purified or made into liquid; it often has a dark brown color, or tan and black. Making hashish requires separating resin from the flower tops by dying the plant out. When the small resin falls from the plant, and repeated, it’s crushed into powder or pressed, which is molded into brown slices as a result of the sticky oil making the powder much more solid.

Both forms of cannabis sativa can be addictive and even cause temporary cognitive impairments, as well as weakening memory.
